Whilst the WordCamp London team continue rehearsals backstage, we’re announcing a Call for Topics and would like to warmly encourage you to get involved in the conversation. Let us know what topics you’d most like to see at WordCamp London 2017.

This is your WordCamp London and we’d love to hear about any WordPress related topics that would light up the stage for you. What would you be interested in hearing or learning more about?

  1. Not very fresh and exciting, but with the announcement from Matt and the Google Search future, I guess stuff on https – how to, when to and why to. Especially with LetsEncrypt etc.

    Now… how to make THAT glamorous and stardust-y…

  2. I’d love to do a session on ‘Advanced Marketing for Web Developers’.

    I did one at the last Birmingham Wordcamp and it well attended and very well received.

    Building your business and getting more clients is always going to be a popular topic.

  3. I would like to see some time dedicated to formatting articles and pages. I often have problems with spacing (particularly between and after bullet or numbered lists), and it would be good to see what expert WordPress users recommend as best practice.

  4. It’s only a simple thing, but I would like a talk on SSL certificates, where you get them from, what information you need to get one, and how to set up your wordpress to use them.

    1. That’s a really good suggestion Dave (and James). I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that be suggested before. SSL certificates are definitely still a mystery to many, and a talk would hopefully encourage more people to find out more and move their site to https!

  5. I’d love to see something about running a web design project – writing proposals, setting expectations, “encouraging” clients to deliver content in a timely fashion, dealing with redesigns. Other topics I’d be interested in are optimizing an online store, developing content for SEO, optimizing as an ongoing project, local SEO, and Google AdWords management.

    1. Oooh, this sounds like one of the talks that I’ve submitted (concerning the design process: handling expectations, revisions, feedback etc.). We’ll see if they pick it 🙂

    2. Yeah, expectation management and getting clients to send content would be handy. It really is the curse of this business (in my view).

  6. Developer-based JavaScript-related topics would be great, especially now the REST API is in core.

  8. I’m preparing a talk for WC Europe on information architecture: the importance of great content and structure as part of your webdesign, to obtain a greater user experience.
    Just checking to see if people in London might be interested in this subject 🙂
