One of the great things about WordPress and WordCamps is the community behind it—it’s such a diverse group of people with so many different interests that it can sometimes be hard to design a social that matches up with everyone’s interests. So we decided the best thing to do was to let the community have a hand in creating our games night.
Bring your own activity
We’ve got a few games ourselves—some classics like Risk, Kerplunk, Giant Jenga as well as some mainstays like playing cards and Backgammon. But we’re asking you guys to bring your favourite games—whether that’s a board game, a card game (no one is bringing Uno yet) or even a Nintendo Switch although make sure you bring a couple of extra controllers for your new friends! If you don’t fancy joining in with the games or you just need a break, we’ll also have a quiet space with no phones, no games and no loud conversations—feel free to bring a book to read or just enjoy a bit of peace.
Dinner is served
Well we can’t have you going hungry now can we? We’ve got a range of pies and sides available:
Pies
- Steak & Mushroom
- Chicken & Leek
- Butternut Squash (vegan, spicy)
- Spinach & Mushroom (vegan)
Sides
- Selection of mash (vegan)
- Selection of peas (vegan)
- Baked Beans (vegan)
All topped off with meat or vegan gravy!
And something to wash it down
As in previous years, we’ll be providing two drinks tokens that can be exchanged for a house wine, a beer or cider, or a soft drink. Anything after that and you’re on your own!
Something for everyone
Hopefully we’ve done enough to create a night that caters for everyone—but as always please let us know if there’s any way we can accommodate. Please remember that even though it’s a more relaxed atmosphere, the code of conduct is still very much in force.
