London – the home of Big Ben, the Royal Albert Hall, St Paul\u2019s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, and of course, the daily changing of the guard outside Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And soon it will be the home of WordCamp London 2019! What an amazing place to host a WordCamp and now we have some exciting news for you…the release of the Schedule!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, cue the virtual trumpet fanfare \ud83c\udfba ta da da-da-da-da!! We are proud and excited to announce: ta da. Yes, enough already \ud83c\udfba da-da-da-da… Yes, yes, all right we\u2019ve had enough of that virtual trumpeting now thank you. We are proud to announce The Schedule<\/a> for this three-day extravaganza of all things WordPress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t mind blowing the trumpet just a bit, because we think this is a fantastic programme that you really should not miss. Have a browse through what\u2019s on offer and if you have not got your place yet, we hope this will encourage you to get booking<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At time of publication, the WCLDN 2019 Schedule consists of 43 speakers, across three tracks on two days.\u00a0We received 139 applications to speak, from 84 individual applicants – this was the highest number of applications to speak at WordCamp London to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We would like to thank everyone who applied. We were overwhelmed by the number and quality of applications. Our thanks go out all the MeetUps, WordCamps, Make WordPress teams and individuals who helped us spread the word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Selection process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Dan Maby, Co-Lead for WCLDN 2019, said: \u201cThe speaker application process is a blind vote, with the whole organising team invited to participate for the widest range of topic choices possible.  Following this initial blind vote, identifying details are added back in to look at (over) representation from individual companies, and gender diversification as far as we can with the details available to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u200b\u201cFollowing the blind vote, we had in the top 40 highest scoring sessions an exact 50\/50 split of individuals identifying themselves as male\/female.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He added: \u201cThe team of WCLDN volunteers have now been in contact with all applicants and our current male\/female split is 23\/20 respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u200b\u201cBabs Saul and I would like to say a huge personal thank you to the volunteer team supporting WCLDN this year. We had just 12 days from close of application to the announcement, our tightest deadline yet for the selection process.\u201d
