Help us make WordCamp London 2018: Call for Speakers

Speaker applications for WordCamp London 2018 are now closed!

We’re looking for speakers to share their experiences with the WordPress community at one of the biggest WordCamp events in Europe. WordCamps are not-for-profit events aimed at content writers, developers, designers, businesses, and WordPress enthusiasts. They’re an excellent place to share and learn and we hope you can help us with that!

Our speakers are people who are willing to share their experience and knowledge with others. They help make WordCamp the place to learn and discover new ideas. Could you be one of our volunteer speakers in 2018?

We’re looking for speakers on a wide range of topics. In addition, here are some topics the WordPress community has said they would like to know more about:

  • GPDR legislation and Privacy
  • Gutenberg (page templates, building themes with Gutenberg, and so on)
  • managing a business and all that’s involved (finding and managing clients, advertising, and so on)
  • scaling websites
  • security
  • accessibility
  • developer-focused topics (coding best practices for theme and plugin development, API, writing secure code, and so on)

WordCamp London 2018: Ticket price

Following the announcement of WordCamp London 2018 dates, we’d also like to announce that the ticket price will be £40 to cover the whole weekend.

Yes, this is a slight increase on last year, but for good reasons!

An amazing WordCamp experience

The WordCamp London 2018 organising team are focused on one main goal: making sure you, the attendee, has the best time possible. We want to bring you the best WordCamp London yet, and to do that, we need some extra support from our attendees. We are working on giving our attendees an outstanding experience and the ticket prices will help us make a difference in what we can do. Trust us when we say, what you put in, you’ll get back tenfold.

So, how come?

We thought long and hard about how to provide you all with the best WordCamp. The way we plan to do this is by increasing ticket prices a little to not only bring you the same quality of WordCamp from previous years, but to improve upon it further. Vendors prices have increased for some of the most crucial and fundamental elements of the event, such as catering, and in order to build the event you have come to know and love, we had to increase ticket prices to help us cover the excess.

This has allowed us to reduce the cost of sponsorship packages, so it is easier than ever before to become a sponsor. Now, a wider portion of the WordPress community can get involved in helping to fund WordCamp London 2018. (Interested? We’ll be posting a call for sponsors soon, so please stay tuned!)

We look forward to having you!

We’re very excited to welcome you to WordCamp London, and show you everything that our speakers, sponsors, have prepared for you! We’re sure you’re going to have a great time! Click here to buy your WordCamp London 2018 tickets now!

Announcing WordCamp London 2018: 13–15 April

We’re delighted to announce that WordCamp London will be back again in 2018!

When and where

We’re happy to say that, after the success of WordCamp London 2015, 2016, and 2017, London Metropolitan University has agreed to host our event once again, and it will be taking place from April 13th-15th 2018.

The event will include a Contributor Day on Friday 13th April, and sessions and presentations over the weekend between 14th and 15th April.

The theme for 2018 will be…

Music!

After much discussion in the organising team, we decided on a musical theme, choosing to highlight how London is one of the top venues in the country (and perhaps, if we do say so ourselves, the world) for experiencing music in all its different forms. We see the WordPress community as one of the most creative communities out there, so the two match perfectly!

Tickets are now available!

We’re delighted to be able to announce that tickets are currently on sale!

Buy a ticket now and join us for our annual celebration of the WordPress community in London.

As has become usual for us, we’re selling a variety of tickets for the event. As well as childcare, conference and contributor day tickets, we also have a good selection of microsponsor tickets. Microsponsor tickets can help fund the event and go a long way in ensuring we can keep up the good standards WordCamp London is known for. This year, we have Studio and Patron tickets available at £250 and £80 respectively.

Think about giving a little more and sponsoring as close to the actual value of a ticket as possible! The event will love you for it.
